The first useful check

The first hour is a good time to identify how you will regain access before changing SSH or exposing an application.

Inputs and prerequisites

Confirm a second working login path and identify the current account, public key and host before altering authentication. A private key never belongs in a web form or shared note.

A small, reversible procedure

Apply updates according to the installed image’s instructions, create an ordinary operating account where appropriate, test access, then make one access-policy change at a time. Validate the SSH configuration before reloading it.

What to record after the check

Record the image, the account used, the access method tested and the point at which you can safely stop or roll back.

Scope and service boundary

This checklist is not a managed security service or a guarantee against compromise. Malaysia, Romania and Switzerland are server-country choices; they do not establish a backup country, facility detail, stock or measured network result.
